It’s so easy to get mad in the morning before school.
"You didn’t get up. You forgot to make your lunch. Your hair looks bad. Your pants are dirty. Pull your pants up! Where is your backpack? Why didn’t you have it ready this morning? Now (after all that) why aren’t you talking at the breakfast table?"

At the end of the day you could be mad, too:
"Where is the laundry I asked you to get? Why didn’t you do that homework over the weekend? Your room is a mess! Did you bring in the trash cans? Have you walked the neighbor’s dog? Now, (after all that) why aren’t you telling me about your day?"
Well, maybe all these things are true. But you don’t have to get mad...these things are true whether you are mad or not. Have a conversation with your children without the anger.
Don’t get mad, choose happiness.
Make them laugh; make them smile before going to sleep and before leaving the house in the morning. They’ll grow up and figure out some of these things. Or maybe they won’t. But don’t let them go to bed or to school upset or thinking you’re mad at them!
